The Manner In Which The IPod And IPhone Saved Apple

Apple Inc., the electronics maker, has come roaring back after almost folding a number of years ago. A big part of the reason behind the company’s striking turnaround was its offering in the late ‘90’s of glossy-looking products that had superb accessibility to the casual user. Starting with the iMac series of computers, the corporation’s devices had distinctive appearances that were satisfying to the eye, and functionality that was at times somewhat non-standard. Gadget design was really turned upside down, though, by both the turn of the millennium iPod and the late 2000’s iPhone.

By the inception of the 2000’s, mp3 files, which were comprised of high-quality audio and didn’t require much hard disk space, were the digital medium of greatest popularity for music. Several companies began creating portable mp3 players, on which listeners could keep a great number of their favorite tracks in this format handy and play these songs for themselves, wherever they happened to be at the moment. A newer line of iPods called iPod Touch actually ended up incorporating the hugely popular design and application-running abilities. As with iPod covers, there were many differing designs and colors of iPod Touch cases which made the device stick out even more.

The iPod and iPhone, obviously, were some of the best inventions of the Information Age. The most technologically challenged of folks could just pick up these cool-looking devices and work with them, and the gizmos contributed to making Apple’s name more famous than ever before.
